- --------------------- SYSOP FILES HELP -------------------
-
- You are reading this because you are involved in the
- periodic maintenance of the files area as either a Sysop
- or a Co-Sysop. If you are a Co-Sysop, Thanks for the
- help!
-
- There is a lot of difference between remote files mainte-
- nance on Red Ryder Host and Mansion. Mansion has not
- been around long enough to have the really nice separate
- files utilities of RRH. We have gots to learn to lump
- it until some industrious individual writes them.
-
-
-
-
- Because of the way I have set up the Files areas, there
- should be no reason for you to move or copy files. I
- had these commands bomb the system, so that is why I
- recommend you don't use them remotely.
-
- What I would like you to do when you get on to do files
- maintenance, is to first Scan for unapproved files in
- your area. Once you find them, unprotect them, download
- them and then re-protect them. Once you have checked
- out the file, you may approve it or delete it as approp-
- riate. Please leave me an E-Mail message indicated which
- file was deleted and who uploaded it. I need this info
- to keep the user file accurate.
-
-
-
-
- Never reset the upload flag, because you will not be the
- only person doing file maintenance and it would be nice
- to let the other guy know there might be something new
- waiting in the file area for which he is responsible.
-
- If you notice problems with a file's description or key-
- word entry, leave me an E-Mail message explaining what
- you think needs fixing. Mansion has no remote utility
- which allows for revisions to uploaded file's descriptions
- or keyword entries.
-
- Most importantly remember that the delete function works
- all too well. Once deleted, a file is gone for good!
